A Little Cosmetic Work

Portholes Before
The portholes were weathered with green tarnish, so we decided to uncover the bronze.

Polishing Portholes
Heidi's son Clinton worked for days polishing each porthole to a shine.

Polishing Portholes
He did so using a brass wired brush.

Polishing Portholes
Harry prepped the portholes while Clinton polished them.

Polishing Portholes
All signs of tarnish removed.

Portholes
Once the portholes were polished, we coated them with a clear Awlgrip.
It took away the bright polished look and gave the portholes a nice bronze finish.
It has also protected the portholes from tarnish for well over a year now.
